Dear prayer warriors, Some thousands of you have Dear prayer warriors,
Some thousands of you have been praying for this little guy since June 2020. I credit your prayers for the three wonderful years we've had with Evan. He radiates joy and love everywhere he goes. (His favorite song is even "Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart.")
This Thursday, Evan will be admitted to the hospital to undergo a heart catheterization in order to find out what's causing the loss of function in his heart. It's a general anesthesia procedure with at least one overnight.
This procedure is crucial in decision making for his care. Right now, his heart isn't functioning well enough for the third open-heart surgery that is typical for this stage in the life of an HLHS patient (the Fontan).
Would you be kind enough to lift him, his parents, and all the grandparents on both sides up in prayer once again?
1) That Evan's heart function would be so good that it amazes his doctors and the other medical team members. In that vein, that the medical team would have wisdom and give Evan the very best care.
2) That Mariah and Chris would be sustained through the hospital stay (and that Evan would do so well that he wouldn't have to stay very long).
3) That this sweet boy would have inexplicable peace in exchange for the medical trauma no three-year-old should have to face. May the days be quick until I am pulling him down from yet another place he shouldn't be climbing, smiling behind his back whilst I give him the obligatory scolding.
May we all be able to sing, "I've got the joy, joy, joy, down in my heart" with as much gusto as Evan does.
